Booth, Panels and Start-Up Insights on Europe's biggest real estate fair
Tuesday, 08.10.2024
13:00 - 13:50
Transform & Beyond Stage, Halle A3
Topic: "Wege zum grünen Gebäudebestand" (Ways to a green building stock)
The building stock and its operation cause a huge amount of CO2 emissions. There is a need for new solutions to make building portfolios more sustainable, resource efficient and environmentally friendly. Start-Ups can provide innovative solutions. Four of the teams we work with at the TUM Venture Lab Built Environment will present their ideas and success stories on stage and discuss their challenges and next steps.
Moderation: Tobias Förtsch
Start-Up Teams on stage:
- Optimuse: data-driven analysis and decarbonization of building portfolios
- baind: intelligent, AI-enabled and optimized control of building technology
- VePa: Vertical Parking towers as a more sustainable and space saving alternative to conventional parking spaces
- econvio: intelligent control of heating systems with thermal digital twins of buildings
Monday, 07.10.2024
14:00 - 14:50
Sustainable Construction Hub, Halle B2
Moderation: Dr. Christos Chantzaras
Guests:
- Dr. Matthias Standfest (CEO, formfollows.ai by Drees & Sommer)
- Julia Dorn (Co-Founder BuildSystems)
- Theodor Baur (ESG Specialist MEAG)
The panel discussion highlights an agile approach to the growing challenges in the real estate industry due to sustainability, regulation and climate change. An anticipatory, interdisciplinary approach that integrates the various stakeholders is particularly necessary in the transformation of existing buildings. However, innovative technologies should also be used. They offer new opportunities to record and develop complex requirements, quantitative and qualitative needs more efficiently. Experts will discuss how new requirements for the planning of buildings reinforce the need for interdisciplinary (digital) collaboration in the early project phases. The discussion offers valuable insights into the future direction of real estate planning and development.

14:00 - 14:50
Sustainable Construction Hub, Halle B2
Moderation: Julia Carstens
Guests:
- Giulia Peretti (Head of Sustainability Real I.S.)
- Johannes Staudt (Researcher Chair of Energy Efficient and Sustainable Design and Building Technical University of Munich)
- Isabel Faller (Head of Strategic Partnerships Polycare)
Circular business models are becoming established in the areas of logistics and production. Construction is also increasingly facing requirements of circularity. But how is it possible to build in a circular way? Which materials are suitable for this? Can buildings and districts be used for urban mining? The Constructing Circles panel will look at challenges, aspirations and reality. And the driving role real estate development can play.
Wednesday, 09.10.2024
11:00 - 11:50
Sustainable Construction Hub, Halle B2
Moderation: Tobias Förtsch
Guests:
- Sarah Kocabiyik Ruschkowski (COO Metabuild)
- Andreas Huber (Managing Director f/p design)
- Yashar Moradi (CTO and Co-Founder MOD & opensource.construction)
Digitalization in the real estate industry is a decisive factor on the way to climate-neutral and sustainable solutions. Digital tools are increasingly enabling resource-optimized development, emission-reduced construction and energy-efficient operation of buildings. But the success of these tools depends crucially on their user-friendliness and acceptance. Participants will discuss why user-centered design is relevant even in early development phases and why user experience (UX) determines the effectiveness and sustainability of digital solutions.

Technical innovations are essential for a successful and sustainable transformation of the real estate industry and the construction sector. But above all, people are needed to drive these innovations forward. The talents and innovators of the future are team players with new skills and knowledge.
At our booth, the focus will be on formats dedicated to upskilling, reskilling and deskilling. They open up new perspectives on the challenges of the built environment for talents and professionals. They show which skills are needed for integrated and sustainable building development and explain which are being replaced by new processes and the use of technology.
The TUM Venture Labs and other institutions from its network, including the TUM Cluster Sustainable Real Estate (CSRE), support students and professionals in their contribution to a sustainable built environment.
If you ask yourself: How can students and professionals be sensitized and trained for topics of sustainability, innovation and entrepreneurship? How can collaboration between disciplines, industry and start-ups be promoted? How can talented people be supported in the development and implementation of their ideas? Then you will find your first answers here. Discover the unique range of interdisciplinary seminars, training courses, workshops and more, and discuss them with us at our booth.
