Alt Protein Pipelines: Hackathons as innovation and career catalysts

The second installment of the Alt Protein Pipelines webinar series will highlight the Bite-Sized Innovations Hackathon co-hosted by GFI-Europe, GFI-APAC, and TUM Venture Labs in June 2024.

The goal of this series is to provide case studies and ideas for other people in the education and training world to build their own programs. Each one of these case studies will lean into the ‘how’ of each project or platform so that the audience can walk away with some actionable insights to take back to their institutions and broader ecosystems.

Hackathons are a novel engagement and training mechanism for many people in academia and can offer otherwise unattainable opportunities for participants. In this webinar, we will hear from team representatives at GFI-APAC and TUM Venture Labs about how they crafted the hackathon and the lessons they learned along the way. They will address topics like how to meaningfully engage industry, how to leverage that industry engagement into relevant training opportunities for the participants, and how to structure hackathon activities for maximum engagement and lasting impact.
