About

Description

Through the I.MDL – Intelligent Machine Design Lab, master’s students at TUM gain hands-on experience in developing and building advanced robotic systems capable of performing complex, socially relevant tasks autonomously. The course empowers students to independently generate product ideas and transform them into near-series prototypes. Along the way, students acquire interdisciplinary skills that integrate mechanical design, electronics, and software development. They also strengthen their abilities to work effectively in teams and manage projects successfully.

Study Goals

After successful completion of the course, students have gained in-depth practical knowledge and skills about systems design and are able to develop complex mechatronic systems and product prototypes. In addition, students have developed advanced skills in problem-solving, team-work and time management. Hence, they are capable of designing market-ready products, making them well prepared for industry as well as research environments.
