Silicone Processing

What is it good for?
Silicone materials are ideal for creating soft and flexible components with biomimetic capabilities offering in demanding environments —especially in medical, wearable, and prototype applications—thanks to their biocompatibility, thermal and electrical stability, and resistance to extreme conditions.
What can I manufacture with this process?
- Sealing structures
- Complex objects mimicking the complexity of the human body
- Soft & compliant structures interacting with the human body
- Bio-inspired & soft-robotic systems & grippers
What kind of materials can use?
- 1K & 2K silicone materials with various shore hardness: LINK
How can I process the material?
- Direct printing using a 1K material and an extrusion-based process.
- Printing a casting mold with FFF or SLA.
What kind of devices does the VL AM have?
- FFF | BambuLab X1E (25.6×25.6×25.6 cm, nozzle diameter: 0.4 mm)
- SLA | Formlabs Form 3B+ (14.5×14.5×18.5 cm, min. layer height: 25 µm)
