TUM Venture Labs is a joint initiative of UnternehmerTUM and the Technical University of Munich (TUM). We bring together a network of domain-specific incubators that serve as a springboard for entrepreneurship in deep tech and life sciences. Our mission: to support start-ups from the first idea to investor readiness, with an active network from academia and industry, strategic advice, and state-of-the-art research and development infrastructure.
In our Lab, we support start-ups in Aerospace and Defense, from space and aviation to security- and defense-relevant technologies. We also work with founding teams in Cybersecurity, for example in IT and software security or the protection of critical infrastructure. As a working student, you support us in all three areas.
We are looking for a motivated working assistant, employed by the Technical University of Munich.
Your Mission
- Event organization & event support: You plan our formats and help implement them, from workshops and pitch events to community evenings. This covers sending invitations, managing participants, and on-site support.
- Project support in day-to-day business: You prepare documents and help introduce new processes and initiatives. This is how you turn ideas into action.
- Start-up scouting & research: You research technology trends, markets, and start-ups in Aerospace, Defense, and Cybersecurity. You also prepare information for selection and evaluation processes.
- Tools, data & processes: You maintain content in Notion and data in Salesforce, taking care to handle sensitive information cleanly and responsibly. If you have ideas on how to make our digital workflows simpler, more secure, or more automated, you are warmly invited to bring them in.
- Communication & coordination: You liaise with founding teams, partners from industry and the public sector, and experts from our network, reliably, in a structured way, and with a sense for priorities.
Your Profile
- Ongoing studies, e.g. in business, computer science, information systems, engineering, aerospace, technology management, or a related field. We are looking for generalists here.
- Strong technical understanding and curiosity for digital technologies; exposure to software, IT systems, or security-related topics is a plus.
- Structured, independent way of working: you keep an overview even when several topics run in parallel.
- Care and discretion when handling confidential data and documents.
- Confident use of MS Office; first experience with Notion, Salesforce, or comparable tools is welcome.
- Very good German and English skills, written and spoken.
- Interest in Aerospace, Defense, and Cybersecurity, as well as in topics such as resilience and dual use.
- 20h per week available
What we offer

- Flat hierarchies, a high degree of autonomy, and close collaboration with a dynamic and inspiring team.
- Opportunities to network with entrepreneurs, executives, and experts in the startup and Aerospace, Defense % Cybersecurity ecosystem — a potential springboard for your future career.
- Diverse insights into various professions and industries.
